Finding Surcharges
Extended Area Surcharge
Providing service to and from less populated or accessible domestic and international areas carries higher operating costs. The extended and remote area surcharges are assessed to more accurately reflect the cost of providing service to these areas.
Fuel Surcharge
Applies to transportation charges for select UPS services and accessorial charges.
Demand Surcharges
Effective September 28, 2025, a Demand Surcharge will apply to packages that require additional handling and large packages until January 17, 2026. The existing Demand Surcharge for parcels that meet the specifications for over maximum limits will increase.
International Processing Fee
Effective 8 September 2025, an International Processing Fee (IPF) of 2.50 USD per shipment (2.35 EUR or the local currency equivalent) will apply to all import shipments into the United States from all regions.
Surge Fees
Effective September 28, 2025, a Surge Fee will apply to shipments on selected services and lanes until and including January 17, 2026. Surge Fees are subject to change.

Effective 17 August 2025, changes will be made to some additional services and charges:
- The Address Correction Charge will be billed per package. This charge applies across all countries.
- The On-Call Pickup Surcharge will now also apply to pickups that include worldwide shipments. This charge applies to: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Effective September 8, 2025, a fee will be assessed for each UPS Worldwide Express®, UPS Worldwide Express Plus®, UPS Worldwide Express NA1®, UPS Worldwide Expedited®, and UPS Worldwide Saver® U.S. import shipment.
The International Processing Fee will be €2.35 or the local currency equivalent per shipment.
Effective September 21, 2025, the Paper Commercial Invoice Services Surcharge will increase to 19,85 CHF when only a paper commercial invoice is provided. Customers using Paperless Invoice will not incur this surcharge.
The increased charge applies to Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and Switzerland.
